Dollar mixed as investors await Fed this week

The dollar was steady against the yen and gained on its European counterpart Monday in Asian trading, as investors awaited the key event of this week: Wednesday's interest rate decision by the U.S. Federal Reserve's policy-making Federal Open Market Committee.
Most economists and investors expect the central bank to maintain its benchmark at 2.0%, but the post-meeting statement will likely provide new clues to future interest rate policy.
